Apple Pie Scented Play Dough Recipe

October 1, 2015 Leave a Comment Written by Crisdee

Last year we made a pumpkin pie scented play dough that I loved.  I wanted to make a batch of play dough to celebrate the return of the honey crisp apple season!  I used cherry Kool Aid powder for the red color and fruity smell, and of course cinnamon.

So, here’s my recipe……

Apple Pie Scented Play Dough

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 4 tsp.  cream of tartar
  • 3 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 or 2 packets of cherry Kool Aid without the sugar
  • 1/2 Tbs. cinnamon
  • 2 cups water

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, cream of tartar, and cinnamon.  In a large pot, combine the water, oil, and Kool Aid powder.  Now, add the dry ingredients to the pot and stir  on medium low heat until the dough forms a ball in the middle.  This will only take a few minutes.  Remove from heat, knead, then enjoy.
