I wanted to have a couple games set up outside for my son’s party. Since his birthday was at the end of August, I decided to make the party games out of clearance summer pool toys.
Pool Noodle Ring Toss Game
We cut a bunch of pool noodles into different lengths. We shoved 1 to 2 foot lengths of quarter round into the pool noodle pieces. My dad used a mallet to pound the noodles and quarter round into the ground. I found eight 17″ pool rings that we blew up to be used as our rings. The children tossed the pool rings onto the noodles.
A giant ring toss game…….
Pool Noodle Target Station
I found this fun idea on parents.com
I used gorilla glue and clear duck tape to make these pool noodle circles (do this with a partner to hold it while you tape it if you can). We found 6 foot tall garden stakes that we shoved through the pool noodles. My dad screwed the three pieces together to make the frame. Then, we pounded the frame into the ground, and used clear duck tape to attach the pool noodle circles.
I gave the kiddos at the party 1/3 pool noodle lengths to throw through the loops. They really ended up just chasing each other around the yard with the pool noodle pieces…which is fine, too. Small, lightweight balls we tried later worked better.
